The brief was to create a space that felt intimate and atmospheric while maintaining the same level of craftsmanship and detail found throughout the rest of the property. The result is a layered environment where natural stone, warm metallic finishes, and dark cabinetry come together to form a refined social hub.
At the heart of the room sits a striking island bar, crafted in dark timber with faceted geometric panels that subtly catch the light. Topped with dramatic natural stone, the island becomes both a working bar and a gathering point for guests.
Behind the island, the back bar is framed with richly veined stone, creating a dramatic backdrop for the collection of spirits and glassware. Integrated shelving and soft lighting highlight the bottles while keeping the atmosphere warm and intimate.
A dedicated wine cabinet sits alongside the bar, ensuring bottles are perfectly stored and always within reach for entertaining.
The result is a basement that feels less like a secondary room and more like a private members’ lounge within the home — perfect for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying time with friends.
